bile

by Indigo Tempesta

i'm disgusted by what i see
i can't

i can barely contain
bile crawling insiduously upward
in my throat
wants to burn it clean

i'm afraid of those around me
their venom
might fell me
strong as i am
as i am in my dreams
can i be that strong? there is no
kindness in our lives
girls and boys we learn first "us"

we think it's okay
you think it's okay?to only kill
kill to only kill we kill everyday we are killing

the angels
bleeding in abandon, wracked with silent sobs:
ourselves
in the forests of our rot,
our fear;
and we think it's okay--
we hate.
we spit hatred like poison--
poison that rarely kills
but it steals joy steals life.
there is not even the soft-edged beauty of sorrow left to us--
only disease.

The word flow in this piece really emphasizes certain questions and points.... well crafted.
