A Rose by no other name

by Stephanie Kent

Roses come in so many different colors
I cannot discover which color belongs to me...
-------
I'm not stunning or sophisticated, like the
Red Rose
I'm not quiet and gentle, like the
Pink Rose
I'm not bonny and welcoming, like the
Yellow Rose
I'm not even exotic or ethereal, like the
Blue Rose
-------
My Rose must be different...
Patiently colorless
A Waiting Rose...

A
White
Rose

Waiting for the color that I have yet to find

What an incredible analogy! The most unique look at self discovery I've seen in a long time. Great poem!

Hi Stephanie, Very good. I love different colors of roses, some of the scents I like, not all. They each have thier own scents. Good work. Jean

Stephanie frankly this is too good.Written lucidly but the lines are superior. The beauty of the poem is the gentle sophistication and the soft words arranged like petals to form a beautiful rose of a poem.
