Muttering Old Woman by Madeline PestolesiIn 50 years
I plan to be
That crazy woman that frequents the ends of cul de sacs.
I'll take all the toys of children that cross my path
And leer at them for having fun.
I won't have cats
(I'm allergic)
But I will,
Most definitely,
Wear stretch pants with stirrups
Like I did when I was 8.
And I'll wear a pink sweater with kitties
And a sequined baseball cap.
But I'll still have a pierced belly button
And my tatoos
Rememberences of my youth
To balance out
The muttering old woman. 07/01/2003 Posted on 07/01/2003 Copyright © 2025 Madeline Pestolesi
