[Library] Still-Life by Nikki RiceI can't stop shaking
the nights are so long
even longer when I'm waking
like a seven minute song
with too many choruses
and just one verse
a train of Greyhound buses
all moving in reverse
Monotonous patterns
fall to endless repeat
emotions taking turns
until the ends meet
the curtains rise again
with new faces in sight
Same expressions from them
as reviews the critics write
The show is worn out
like the comfort of sleep
Hope just brings doubt
as the minutes slowly creep 06/30/2003 Posted on 06/30/2003 Copyright © 2025 Nikki Rice
