Nerve Ending by Bruce W Niedt
five-inch existence and
a jungle of wires
in the technological room
electric
even the atmosphere
charged
lightning
a tense body preparation
GSR
a stimulation
of nerve
center
a spoke hub universe of endings
a network within
a feel
a throbbing and
fields of
iron filing dances
rise on end like
cat hair
frog legs twitching and
an infinity of frog legs
mirrors
EEG
a charge building
of smaller charges
a million nerve ends
quiver with arousal and
awareness
and a monstrous intensity
heat
red
wires
a sizzle
flesh
crackling
of every
cell
a
hard
sharp
POP!!!
A shudder.
He crumbles,
burnt,
falls into
the wire
undergrowth,
the circuitry
breaking him down,
wrapping his body in leaves.
In silver
foil
leaves.
