Thoughts @ 12:58 am

by Scott Cadence

You bring back days
We sat yellowed under the awning
Before stills were all we had
Of this light year speed

That exterior lining
I realize in seeing you
I’ve kept all this time

uplifted in my skin
like tree bark
and pine needles
in palm of my hands

where it finally feels natural

where your careful lips have found me once again

trying to collect the pain between us
un-glove the white chalk and tape
upon my heart

the years of fighting
incandescent throws
of our love’s lost
eternal light

I wish now
to only let in

Of all of the amazing lines in here I think the one that stands out the most to me is "where it finally feels natural". This is awesome stuff as always with the things you write. Good stuff. Keep it up.

wonderful, mysterious, sensuous, and just plain excellent. Great read, Scott.
