make some room

by Gabrielle L Gervais

Space.
where you stretch your arms and spin
and throw your voice into the clouds.
Space.
where your big laughter isn’t cut short
by interstates
and too-smart sundial digital demands.
Space.
where the spirit’s reality is huge
and people’s places shrink.
the body sealed in tossed grasses.
Space.
where you can cover the stars with outstretched fingers
but you can’t black them out.
Space.
where the sun follows the warmth
and tangibility is simple.
Space- we laugh at it’s concept.
Space- oh how we rush away from it.

Rush away from where to where? Sometimes, we do walk into the space of time. SEEING seeing from altogether a different layer of awareness.
