Inhale until that day

by Sam Roberts

When I breathe in, my heart burns

Destroyed by a lighter?

Denying myself of what it really is.

I carry on

Inhale,

Exhale.

When I know I don't need it,

somehow I need it.

What a sordid compulsion.

But you are my child,

so I carry on,

I carried on.

Until the day

Until that day.

I have no control,

I laugh and exhale.
