Stolen Hearts

by Adrian Calhoun

She's out there waiting.
That free spirited,
wild-eyed girl.
The one who holds you in a trance,
while waiting for her heart to be stolen.

She will put on a coy smile,
whispering sweet nothings in your ear,
yet she keeps you anticipating her every move.

Her golden hair,
that overpowering perfume,
and innocent eyes.
The same eyes in which you see
passion and wanting desire.

She dreams of romance novel rendevous,
knights in shining armour,
and being swept off her feet.

While waiting for her enchanted gentleman,
without even trying,
she has stolen your heart instead.

It was just a glance,
only a few words,
a smile.

As time stood still,
you became hers,
forever and always.

Ahhhh! sweet is the love of tender youth! You write as if romance is in the air! :)

Endearing poetry, Sir. To wear your heart you'll need a larger sleeve. Peace...
