The Star

by Trisha De Gracia

I layed awake
Outside the breeze was warm
Stretched and open on the trampoline
Thinking only bout your arms
and all the stars,
they stared right back at me
and knew that I could only see
your face in every shine of white
far out into the sky.
And so I smelled the honeysuckle blooms
from somewhere distant
sweet perfume engulfed me
comforting and dreamy
I thought only of your love
and of the way I see your dimpled grin
whenever you see me.
I thought of how the light
plays perfectly on every feature
thought of how your eyes ignite me
hands consume me
how your mind
your voice
your songs
do things to me I'd never known,
before I dreamt
and you appeared.
I feel you by me
in my arms one afternoon
I feel you there with me
you're drowsy
I can feel your smiles
can feel each breath.
Without you on a summer's night
I felt you there
as I drifted off...

I blinked
I missed a wish upon
a shooting star that graced the sky.
I smiled and closed my eyes
You're by my side
I've wished for nothing else.

Hi Trisha, Beautiful. Isn't love grand? Sometimes it can be rough. Jean
