i wonder why it took me so long to see

these feelings that have built up inside of me

it only took one night to realize this

now i long for the taste, the sensation of your kiss

we held each other as the melodies played

aware of your hold around me as we swayed

i never wanted that night to end

it was perfect as described in the poems i penned

i haven't been able to get you off my mind

it's amazing the things you can find

when you let things just take their course

i just opened a new set of doors

i hope they lead your heart to mine

maybe prom was the well-needed sign

to tell us that we could build something more

in hope for us that love is in store
