The New Religion

by Jersey D Gibson

Well kids,
it's the end of the world,
so go ahead and join the band wagon.

Well boys and girls,
they got a new religion
and it goes by the name of addiction.

Well junkies,
they got a new cure
but it costs about a $1,000 a pop.

Well addicts,
the cure's got you hooked,
and now there's nothing left of you anyway.

Well world,
the one I despised so much,
we never helped each other in our hate of one another.

Well Death,
it's so nice to see you,
seems now that you are my last and only friend now.

Like hopping on stones across the River Styx. I like the fatalistic/carnival hukster tone of this one.
