New Light

by Cole Miller

Laughter, that we shared together
Under the darkening sky on the bench
Near the playground we played on
Afterwards, echoed off the school and
Resounded its way back into my heart

Every moment that passed proved your
Change to me, the old you would
Laugh at the thought of sitting out
In the cold watching the moon orbit the
Planet. But this you is different, this you
Still loves me and I'm lucky tonight, This
Evening I've seen you in a new light
