line SkyNights

by Beth K Hannah

Midnight sculptures are endless discussions
Talked about by those who think
That they are the main orbit
Of the stars and the dreams that
I love to sleep in

Distant clouds up in my mind
Seeing the cars cruise by without
Thier blinkers being blinked
For once, I'd love to be the one
Who says they are the Queen.

Silence of the school children
Is due to their sophistication
And the lack of flying with wings
Hotel maids seem so much better
Than the girl who slept there before

Being lost in the smooth waves
Of his body is so far
Quicker silenced and lanced open
By the blue knight I saw
Parking his car and trying
To impress that one sheep who trusts the wolf

Once in awhile pink overides
The systematic black of my nightmares
And I see once and for all
The beauty of the lost little girl
Who I loved so dearly.
