Sonnet - One Shot II

by William Teo

Misty vision, pounding heart, one raced
Through the veils untrue, to the crystal stairs
O'crystal stair to one's repose, "One comes"
But alas, one was denied and could only stare
Fading stairs, gone away hopes, one's repose.
Through one's clenching hands, peace had fled, "No, please..."
Alas, one turned back for there was no recourse
O'how one yearn for the eternal kiss
Awakening to cold harsh world, one wept
Tears of rebirth to stain one's pasty face
Beating heart, sorrowed still... to life one crept
Breaths of life, polluted the air, poison laced.
Misty fate, one to wake, another shot
A single shot to life anew, one shot

*Breathes*

Wow, one shot like one word is very powerful. I enjoyed this from across the world.
