dirty hands by Cymbre Dolphayhands covered in solvent
grease and dirt
turned black with the cast offs
of a clean world
that dirt and grime
is the mark of hard work
something earned by honesty
through true ingenuity
and now those same hands
are losing a thumb war
with a bar of soap
at an attempt of cleanliness
ironic that these badges
of a life well lived
should be thrown away
and those hands
left naked and raw again 05/19/2003 Author's Note: written at work
