easy to please

by Olivia Weinkein

this left me in the distance
with my heart in my hand
searching desperately through the
chaos for someone to understand
but noone is reckless enough to play
with the colors of the battered and the
bruised. the loveless are unable to love
the loveless, the used have no need for
the used.

and i talk to the walls that will listen
and cry to the moon that still burns
i battle with the stars i once wished on
and struggle in a world that still turns
i walk on that which has not yet been walked
on, abuse what has not already been abused
because there is no longer any love here for
the loveless and no need anymore for the used.

but when i hold myself against all i know
and measure what it is i see,
i guess it goes without saying so but i
would
need you again if you needed me.
