Shadow

by Kate Demeree

We frolicked in the meadow
Climbed within my friend the tree
Slept within his branches
My shadow and me

We shed our clothes upon the shore
Walked the silver beach
Swam in heated salt seawaters
My shadow and me

Lying upon the sun warmed rock
Watching clouds drift in a lazy sky
Living within this moment
My shadow…. and…I

that sounds like such a lovely retreat for the soul. a very 'feeling good' poem that draws me into the scene.. you're never alone when you've got your friendly shadow along :)
