For My Aunt

by Beth K Hannah

How does one
Stop time
Make it all come back
End the pain
Erase the hurt?

No graduation
Mother's Day
Late night talks
Words of wisdom
Kisses and hugs

Like a falling star
She drifted away
Basking us in her beauty
Making us wish to see her again
She was one in a million,
Billion

Even after the years go by
And her scent leaves the room
She will still be there
Making us smile
Bringing us joy and love
And the happiness
Knowing she had been alive.

Author's Note: My aunt died yesterday. This was the best way I could think of to remember her.

*starts to cry all over again* Oh Bethy, this is so lovely. I adore it. Now stop making me cry...
