Tiger lily by Julie Adams
I rest in the bosom
of love, my lily pad
humming the chorus
of a grasshopperÂ’s choir
under the waning moon
the water grass combs
worries from my hair
as I lay into the shore
content between
water and land
where the tide of love
washes upon me
like every peeking amber sun
and naked evening moon
I bathe in, breathe in
her Tiger-lily pollen
remembering to
never forget
the nature of love

Posted by JD Clay on 06/21/03 at 01:17 PM Cathartic poetry, Jewels. This is an intricately articulated expose on both the love of nature and 'the nature of love'. Good stuff.
