Spun-Sugar

by Amanda Conlogue

The clouds at sunset spin
to sugar, cotton candy pink
a carnival of delights in the sky
I long to take a ride
on the gilded carousel
feel the horses glide
I long to sit with you
on the giant ferris wheel
rising up to the stars
take your sticky hand in mine
and lick your sticky lips
sweet with spun-sugar
and delirious with my kiss.
