The Bridge That Bears His Name by Thomas K. HuntLead me over that walking mans bridge
Take me to Chapel Hill
I think it's just up over this ridge
We've got some time to kill
His name reflects in the headlights
Can't you see it just up ahead?
It's right there in green and white
Just like the Observer read
Dedications and monuments
All for Sweet Baby James
From highway songs to October roads
To the bridge that bears his name
He's humble but appreciative
He's quiet yet so proud
After fifty years of singing his life
He can still hold onto a crowd
He knows his place in the spotlight
His tunes still spill some tears
Trickling down the cheeks of generations
That have found him all these years
Lead me over this muddy water
Over this bridge tonight
I found my mind in Carolina
Under a Chapel Hill moonlight
Though I've never been there
I've been there just the same
Traveled by way of Copperline
Over that bridge that bears his name

Author's Note: I read this article in the NC Chapel Hill Observer on a dedication of a bridge in James Taylors name.He was from there and it is reflected in his songs like Carolina in my Mind and Copperline. This is more of a lyric then it is a poem
