"april snow" by Leonard M Hawkesnew growth engulfed
in the white
of cold age;
the highlands seem
to afford such.
and Beauty defiled
in storm's
passionate rage,
hinders but doesn't
hurt much.
the Mother renews
in a patient
display,
Father is fickle
it seems;
and weary hearts
feed on the
fruit of Decay,
and Honesty thrives
in a Dream. 04/26/2003 Author's Note: The Season and Nature are obvious, but it's also allegorical. Written on site in Logan Canyon, Utah.
