Last Embrace

by Jersey D Gibson

Walking along,
this long darkness,
step by step;
I stray not from the path.

Hold my hand,
my heart is true,
never faltering;
make it through the aftermath.

Please
take my hand,
I don't want to sleep again.

Come
close my eyes,
as you walk along with me.

Sleeping silently,
my dreams will tell,
with your grace;
I can survive anything.

Hand in hand,
arm in arm,
my soul is yours;
let's see what life will bring.

Try
see my soul
as you shepard me safely.

Give
one last embrace
will my heart beat true?

In your eyes,
anything is ours,
we are the world;
time stans still for us.

No hurtles can trip s,
no obstacles blocking,
nothing can stop us;
we will conquere.

Lead
take me home,
I want to leave this place.

Feel
hold m soul,
I want to feel your last embrace.

Author's Note: Another new song from me. This is about the love for Jesus. Doesn't sound very Christian...

funny about steven's comment; this poem caught *my* eye because of a song called "last goodbye" by jeff buckley that has the line "last embrace" in it...but yes, the poem is indeed very lovely. thanks.
