ha ha ha ------heres to you.

by Olivia Weinkein

messages scrawled on the backs of doors
in public restrooms make me sick and
think of you but i have a message of my own
now. these days. so when you answer each
time and hear strange voices, there ya go.
because messages scrawled in chatrooms
with your number make me feel alive and
think of you but again, they make me feel
alive. so heres to you. and call waiting.
and heres to you and me knowing your
number. and heres to a hundred strangers
givin you a call. and heres to you and me
hating you and there are no lengths i will
go to to prove just how much :)

Given all the angstful broken-hearted bitterness I see on this site, it is amazing how this piece manages to stand out as so creative. The particular road is very original. It manages to convey one of those feelings that we all want to express but just can't seem to get out. I'd probably revise it by eliminating some of the conjunctions, like that first "but", and I'd break it into stanzas, and maybe change the line breaks to heighten the drama and the punch.

I really like this...it reminds me of what I'm going through right now... my poem "Communique" is very similar to this..
