Bad Acting

by Trisha De Gracia

Thinking about the way we talk.
It makes me laugh inside.
We play
the "school charade"
true,
we suck at it
and people see
straight through our act,
but nevertheless
we see eachother
and chat about the weather
or the Canucks
all the while staring
into each others eyes
with another silent dialogue
secretly running between us.

Today again I saw you.
"Hi"
"Hello"
"How are you?"
it made me laugh again.
It's a half a dirty secret
talking to you
in this fashion
when all I really wanna say
is "hi, I love you."
and all I wanna hear from you:
"hello, I love you too."

Author's Note: Haha, so much for my "no poems about love" policy. THAT went down the drain pretty quick...

I always thought I was a good actor...
