Gem Whimsy

by Kate Demeree

Peter Pan and Tinkerbell flew off
In an emerald sky

Humpty Dumpty told Rose Red
A jaded lullaby

The man in the moon
Hummed a diamond tune
To Mary and her lamb

Jack gave Jill a pearl
He found in some old clam

We loved beneath
A ruby sky

As I drowned within your
Sapphire eye

'N dreamed of gem filled fairy tales
As the world went onyx way
