Torn

by J. P. Davies

Two women for one heart
I can't fight my feelings
It's tearing me apart

Blood pounds in veins
stomach twists into knots
I can't stand these pains
My brain shuts down and rots

How did this occur?
It happened suddenly
A horse kicked by a spur
all that's left of me

Both can offer something
the other cannot flaunt
Echoes of both sweet voices
spin through my brain and taunt

I love both despite all
my concience tells me "NO!!"
I must either fight this current
or just go with the flow...

Four hearts affected
not just one or two
I don't think I could make it
without both of you

I sit astride a fence of doubt
while frustrations cloud around
I'm lifted to a spire of sin
I cannot find the ground

Help me find a way
out of fear and fire
I made my promise to be true
Don't make me a liar
