Black-Heartedness

by Jersey D Gibson

God, help me please,
I'm on my knees;
I've been tripped by love.

There's nothing left to say,
I don't want to stay;
there's nothing here to trust.

My direction has been lost,
my broken heart the cost;
your love was just a ruse.

Now that it is true,
I've walked out on you;
I won't allow me to be used.

The black-heartedness,
that lies in your chest,
beats for all to see.

You stumbled, now you fall,
do you think I've got the gall;
to point and laugh with glee?
