Black Skirt, Sky Blue Shirt (MATURE) by Ken HarnischWe have time
And in that black skirt and sky blue shirt
You invite full appraisal of your charms
Not some mad dash to ruin them with fast
Made wrinkles from some blind, rutting passion,
Rife with missteps and missing subtlety.
So let my hands
Wander along the outline of your legs
Through the fabric and touch the flame
Of the sweetest shadow, where they will linger
Longingly, and the rise and the fall of your sky blue
Shirt holds a breast that, though impatient, awaits its turn
I will kiss you
That slow, lingering way you like when I am
Being as poetic as I am heated, and my whispered
Words beat down upon your crumbling resolve
Like a million tiny thrushes, fluttering in your heart
Sigh softly, darling, as you do; I am here with you
Your own fingers
Will not tarry long by the side of some Mannerly road,
Or let mine be the only paint brushes running along this
Canvas today. Your intent is now as hotly single-minded
As my own, and though some grace and beauty seems
To have escaped us now, in this heat, it matters not
Its all your fault, darling
