if i write a haiku for you

by Charlie Morgan

if i write a haiku for you

each syllable would

trill your name

a thousand times,

echoing,

echoing,

echoing

in the ears

of an endless

existence.

until Time herself wakes from

slumber, stretches and

leers ahead at us

then turns away,

smilng,

smiling,

smiling

as our love

marches toward

tomorrow.
