Youth

by Matt Forget

Wake to the day

Where youth returns

The land so far away

Beyond the reach of man

The toys in which a kid once played

Saved from the growing sanctuary

Forgotten as they never could keep

Lost and gone forever.

Cast to the days of youth

Though they swim farther away

Closer to the reservoir of the past

Where future awaits the gray.

Sleep away

The dreams that come alive

Where the suns and moons shift

And youth of life lives on.
