Road Rage

by Madeline Pestolesi

Hands clentched tightly
Biting into the black wheel
Fighting the urge to scream
And accelerate into the idiot
Driving 20 miles under the speed limit
in the fast lane
Sometimes I wish
I had a reader board
attached to the bumpers of my car
So that I could type irate messages to other drivers.
And sometimes
I think I wish I was a cop
So I could pull over every freaking motorhome
Blocking the 400 cars
Trying anxiously to get home from work.

Author's Note: I have a lot of issues with driving. I mean, I have to drive almost 40 miles to school on a one lane twisting road, and they just started construction season. I should probably relax, but who am I kidding?
