Sun Rise

by Trisha De Gracia

sitting straight and silent,
It's a dark room
on a cold night
in the height of Winter.
She will face a window
open to the east
and wait for the sun
to peak over
the soft ridges
of the the hillside before her.
Eventually
the dawn will come
And the chill will die off.
She'll feel the sunshine
on her face
Drink it in
and open her eyes
you see your body
perched on the sill.
