My Lover's Eye

by Christel Crews

Who am I
I am me, I am you
God sent, God breathed
I hold the future in my womb

A blessed task
I must fulfill
Generations will follow
If I will

Who are you
to lust after me so
Who are you
To travel to and fro

Am I just a toy
For you to touch
An open book
Waiting to be crushed

There will come a morn
When I won't stay
And take this
Abuse any longer

My wings will open
And I will soar
Into the very sky
That made my lover's eye
