And we are exultant by Sarah Brookes
Once again, we have transcended.
Redeeming ourselves
in the perforated sighs of silence
that distort the landscape beneath our feet.
(For we are ether and crystalline mist
Thrown at the mercy of a favourable summer breeze)
Contorting; helix in metamorphosis,
celestial flow rebounds as we sail
- tendrils seeking their way
trembling to the abyss,
where light beads on hazy eyes.
Descendextatic
Hopeful and glorious.
Deafened by the shadow-songs
that offer tranquil chaos
to your burnished soul.
{Pass along the camulet and be joyful in your now}

Posted by Richard Paez on 04/17/03 at 10:26 PM I do indeed agree with the words of all who have preceded me in commenting here. I love the first line, "once again we have transcended." This is not the first time, this is an echo of the many times we have come this way before (and will again). Imagery, tone, balance, all perfect, like the subjects are and will be. Beautiful Sarah, thank you for sharing this with us. {m} |
Posted by Bertram Sparagmos on 11/13/12 at 01:42 PM It echoes the endless cycle of transcendence and failure, two halves of a wheel suspended midway in the water. Great poem. |
