Cliched Heartache (A Rambling of Sorts)

by Trisha De Gracia

Love and Lies.
the Cliched term
used when one's heart is nearly breaking.
Such a Cliched feeling,
isn't it?
Wake up one morning,
find the one beside you
is not the one
you layed beside
the night before.
My my, how time
has Pulled
the Rug
Out from Underneath my Feet
and left me sitting
bare-assed on the floor.

I'm like a Caged Bird
Trapped within loyalty
to a man I once knew
and have never known.
How sweet the days once were
when every lovely saying
that once applied to love
applied to us
And we were joyful just
to have eachother there
and now
what are we?
I open my eyes
to realize
that I'm not sure
what colour yours are.
To find the world's a shocking place
to be
when all's confusing.

Should I leave for Greener pasture?
Is it Broken? Should I Fix it?
All Cliched and said before

as one once said
"nothing's new"
And I find that's half the problem.
Do all people
grow accustomed
to not showing affection?
Total strangers
kept my spirits up
you love me?
Why didn't you?
So long has passed
since you Held Me in Your Arms
for just no reason.
Kissed my forehead
to remind yourself
It's me who's by your side.
"Unconditional Love."
Are those the words
that should apply?
Shoulds and Woulds
don't mean a damn
when no ones Getting Down to Buisness.

If one morning you woke up
and didn't see my body
next to yours
would you notice I was gone?
or look right through me
as you always do.

I'm just a petty ornament
a ring around his finger
Kiss me when I glitter
cast me off when I get dull.

And yet what if I am wrong?
And you don't know the harm you've done
And maybe this is just
one big kerfuffle
for the two of us.
And what if soon
you'll be my prince again
And monotonously we'll ride off
Man and woman, Hand in hand
into the blazing inferno
of yet another peaceful sunset...

I LOVE YOU, god damn it!

So why cant you hear me?

... Just another Cliche, I suppose.

Forbidden Fruit is still on the tree...Ripening every day...
