Just Like You by Quinlan L GibsonLike the cut of a knife.
Your unending distrust,
slices my vulnerable flesh.
Does the blood please you?
Seeing me bleed,
convince you?
Yes, I hurt too...
Yes, I feel too...
I am human.
Just like you.
Like the sting of a bee.
Your constant suspicions,
swell inside me.
Frustrations, and anger...why?
What have I ever done?
What do you need me to do?
I will.
I am human.
Just like you.
Like fire, it burns.
Synging the fibers.
This woven twine,
we two have put together
over time.
Tell me what to do.
I am in this too.
And I am only human.
Just like you. 04/08/2003 Author's Note: this was done 11/01. The first month I dated my man, and his trust issue. We've come a long way since this. But it's nice to read and see it for myself.

| Posted by Steven Kenworthy on 11/09/06 at 02:15 AM i love medical/trauma terminology related to breaking hope/trust. this is brief and powerful...to the point, artsy but not overboard. pretty in a dark way...but smart, not just for looks. nice write qg ;] |
