last kiss

by Lisa-Dawn Sparling

If I knew our last kiss was our last –
I would have kissed you longer.
If I knew our last hug was the end –
I would have held you tighter.
If I knew the last words would have been the final
I would have screamed “I love you”
But who was to know that our life and love was to remain frozen in time.
Your love lifted me off the ground when I met you,
My feet have still never touched.

Beautiful. Truly and amazingly so. I relate and am touched by this poem.
