Mississippi Catfish Blues by Graeme FieldenSpent my night on paddle steamer
Girlfriend told me I was just a dreamer
Ran away with a whiskered catfish
Lonely night, star bright I wish...
Now theyre swimmin in the Mississippi
Grab my line and do some fishin
Catch a girl thats what Im wishin
Nice big one bout five feet five
Busty, pigtails, dance a jive
Now were floatin down the Mississippi
Whiskey hit me half past ten
Catfish run begins again
Pull that line in, hand to hand
Lines a cuttin, single strand
Now Im fallin in the Mississippi.
Waters cold and currents pulling
Whirlpools forming - drags this fool in.
Fat arse catfish grins and sneers
Head submerses, catfish cheers
Now Im drownin in the Mississippi.
Body floats right down the river
Cold and wet, the catfish shiver
Eat my body piece by piece
Join my girlfriend, rest in peace
Were together in the Mississippi.
