Splendiferous Seclusion

by Graeme Fielden

Splendiferous seclusion

They were the first two words that came to me
When I climbed into bed, locked myself in.

With the click of a rusted safety belt – click, click…
And the flow of the wind rushing through my hair

The window buzzed slightly,
Lowered slowly…

Feeling like a mongrel dog
Happy eyes squint into the wind

Watching bystanders, just standing
Travellers doin what they do best

Responding smiles on faces
Passing by…saying hi (*smiles*)

Feelin like the world has
tripped me in my pillow

as the world passes by
Happy melancholic

In my splendiferous seclusion
