A Second in Time

by Christel Crews

Darkness slowly enters my body
Slowly courses through my veins
Beginning in my mind
The dark places where no one knows

Slowly it meanders down my spine
I can feel it slowly seeping
Now it reaches my arms
Like a thick cloak blanketing my being

Now it enters my chest
Its path is for the heart
The source of all that's living
Beating, beating, my heart keeps beating
Darkness still moves on slowly seeping

Now the numbing, slowly over taking
Each and every crevice of my heart
No more thoughts, no more feelings
Just a numbing slowly beating

Heaviness now is the darkness
Slowly creeping for my legs
Darkness wraps its reaching hands
Around each foot, it's closing in

I sit and watch darkness taking over
No opposition, I watch it slowly
Grasp every part of my being
Darkness slowly, slowly seeping
Slowly, it took one second in time

Hi Christel, A Second In Time, it's very good, yet kina sad too. Yes, depression is nothing to mess with. I know a couple people that going thru it now. Keep writing it helps too.
