Three Shots for a Dollar

by Kate Demeree

Three Shots For A Dollar

Yeah, it gets a little longer every year,
Just by a name or two. Never thought that
I would be one of those standing in this line.
Who am I to complain? I willingly, paid my
Two bits of bleeding heart for a chance
To toss the balls, after hearing the barkers opening call.
How was I to know I would miss, become caught
In that heart print net beyond the milk bottles?
Oh well, live and learn I guess.
