Better asleep than conscious.

by Sam Roberts

Now I’m here, catching my fall
Sombre, silent, sickened by
the stillness of my corpse.

Floating slowly, silently out of myself.
Now I’m here watching,
waiting to be laced back into my nightmare
Laced back into my natural state

Trespassing over my own remains,
That were once so beautiful,
I wait, shivering slightly,
As I softly succumb
to the torture of being awake.

Ooooh, can I use beautiful and morbid in the same sentence?...lol Loved the line...."Trespassing over my own remains"... what an image!

I can relate to this emptiness, another well written piece.
