Ode to the Bombers by Adrian CalhounMoving faster than sound,
out of nowhere they briefly appear.
Coming in the cover of darkness,
to deliver their goods.
A quick push of a button,
then a lot of thrust upward.
Screeching and howling,
his package is being delivered.
Explosions his knock,
flames and debris his calling card.
Now headed to his floating
home away from home.
These cowboys
ride horses with jet engines.
The modern day aces,
clearing the road for the cavalry. 03/25/2003 Posted on 04/03/2003 Copyright © 2024 Adrian Calhoun
