I speak without words

by Amy Niggel

Ever the eaves dropper,
ever the voyeur
I sit watching the world go by me
in a flash of colors
the colors of the living
the living who will never see me
for I am nothing more than the mist
though I am so much more than everything
They run to and fro
these little creatures I've created
looking at each other little
looking at thier world less,
my world.
I made it for them
that they might enjoy and thrive
and now look at them
many of them don't speak to me any more
though I am always listening to them
some don't know I am here at all
others ignore me
for fear of my anger at what they have done
and others still are angry with me
claiming that while they speak to me
I never speak back to them.
To this I shake my head,
can't they see?
in the sunrise painted in shades of gold and rose each morning
in the pale greens of spring's first shoots
in the deep reds of summer's roses
in the yellows and oranges of the falls glory
even in the pure colorless snow that reflects all light.
In the amazing things that they can do
that they can see
that they can feel and experience
In all I have given them
In my Son and his death
In ALL that I have given them
and yet they say I do not speak to them
simply because I speak with out words.

Author's Note: Yeah this is a bit of an odd one not really where I had intended it to go when I set out but I kinda like the way it wound up. Though I am afraid it seems a bit vain of me to think that I could know how G_d thinks or feels. But this is art, simply no more than writing so I guess it works on that level.

WOW! This really captures the way I think God would feel. Definitely one of my faves of yours.
