True Friends

by Thomas K. Hunt

A true friend last forever
Even in the silence of the years
Remembering all the good times
The laughter and the tears
As we head into our summer
In the middle of our age
We'll always have each other
As we enter this next stage
We thank God for our springtime
For the bonds that we have made
Where we grew to love each other
And the memories that we've saved
In our lives there will be sorrows
A part of nature we can't hide
Never be alone in your sadness
Your true friends are deep inside
Live each day for the moment
And every moment of the day
Teach your children of the meaning
Of what I'm trying to say
True friendship last forever
It's something no one can pull apart
I'm proud of our friendship
You will always be in my heart.
