I Am The Keeper

by Thomas K. Hunt

The winds of change are blowing through my soul
Where there was a heart is now an empty hole
Another life has passed through mine
Traces of my being have passed through my mind
Segments of my life so separate but so near
Some have brought real laughter
While others only tears

I am the keeper
The only one that knows
The traveling mind within me
And where it always goes
Locked away in silence
Deafening within my head
I hear the thoughts that speak to me
I've heard what they have said
I've learned from my silent friend
I've learned life's lessons well
Within myself can be heaven
Or just a living hell

This is deeper than it appears... and very insightful. Great title and a stunning last line! Very well written...

Yes, those last two lines do sum it up well and inspire a lot of deep thoughts to go away with. A very effective piece of writing. *applause*

astounding. A memorable phrase, and concept, the keeper of one's soul.
