Sweet Dream Memories

by Thomas K. Hunt

Now and then I need to get away
Travel my mind far from my day
I still need a place to go
Sweet dream memories make it so

There is a town just east of Ontario
It sleeps by the river under a blanket of snow
It's so easy to exist without a care
When you are young and growing there

Crystal springs sparkle clean with shine
Full moon rising over tall green pines
A peacefull silence wafts the still nights
Holds you in comfort close and tight

An amber field of grass and weeds
Rolls like waves in the autumn breeze
A hawk in flight with a watchful eye
Slowly circling the mid day sky

A well known dog asleep in the shade
Flying papers on the street from a parade
A boy on the bank with a line in the river
The warmth of a fire that steals your shiver

There is a town just east of Ontario
That's the place where I need to go
All my days of growing were there
Sweet dream memories without a care
