I looked up
I tried to smile
But all that came were tears

As you stood there
I thought about all the years
The years we spent together
The years we thought
that our friendship would last forever

See How wrong we were?
Look How much we didn't know
Why didn't it last?
Perhaps our inside feelings started to show

I look back now
On all those times we could smile
How we could laugh and talk and have fun
I just don't see how things went wrong.

I guess its time to say good bye
Tears -Flowing like a waterfall
They all come out at once

I don't think I'm ready
To cut this relationship off
Maybe some other time
Maybe another day

Maybe if I hold it out long enough
Everything that used to be
will come back again.

Author's Note: I had 2 very good friends a while back and when I became homeschooled our friendships faded slowly off...I guess this is a reflection of that experience
